How to Master a Crop in Farmville

Zynga, the developer of Farmville, has added a quite new innovation into their game: Crop Mastery. You begin working on mastery as soon as you reach level 10 and will keep on adding points toward it throughout your farming career. For every successful square of land that you harvest, you get one point of mastery. For instance, a 16×16 field of ripe corn will get you 256 mastery points. You can verify your points on a particular crop by going to the Market and reading the note below each picture of produce. To help you figure out where you are in mastering the crop, there is a progress bar and 3 stars. To master a specific crop, complete all three stars!

Mastering a Crop
Grow and harvest then plant and harvest again. Do these steps multiple times. Every crop has a different number of points needed to master it.

The Point of Mastery
Mastery is more about showing off and really not about earning farmville coins. Once you get all three levels of mastery, you receive a sign that you can display on your field. This will let other people know that you have mastered a certain crop. Furthermore, mastery also keeps the game fascinating as you begin to get into higher levels where you do not unlock additional crops or items.

You unlock the ability to harvest the best crops once you attain mastery of a crop. Premium crops occur randomly throughout your harvest and give you additional xp. Keep in mind that it only works for the crop that you have mastery in. You may also need to use the sign that comes with your achievement—put it up by the field in a proud display! You level up faster by getting additional xp points, if you master a a small number of crops. In order to go through as many harvests as possible, you will likely would like to pick something with a relatively quick harvest time.
