i am just wondering how radio communication for a company works. I brought so many books but nobody seems to have straight forward answer or may be i have to dig a bit more. But before that lets ask to yahoo community to get some clue. how to select a specific rf signal and a propagation mode for the design and which modulation technique i will use and why? What about the radio transmitters? How can i draw a diagram of my design? Any few good links would do from the respected experienced radio engineers.

What is the distant range ?
What frequency is available from your local area ?
360 degree communication or point to point directional ?
What is the maximum RF power allow from your area, for a company usage ?
What is the cost you expect ?
You must list all these basic factors before anyone could answer your question.

If the company is operating on Earth, then you have only two practical possibilities :-
1) Mobile Phone (if the country(s) where the company is based has any providers)
2) Satellite Phone (eg. Iridium system)
The only other choice is to bid for radio spectrum from the national authorities (expect to pay $ a few billion per country) …
