I have Samsung D500 phone that came with an O2 (pay as you go ) sim card, but I really don’t like O2, I want to use a different sim card I have (a T-mobile pay as you go) but when I put the T-mobile Sim Card in the phone it won’t let me use it.
Is there anyway to use my phone with a different Sim Card?
thanks.

There is. Basically, you just have your phone unlock. Because the phone is made for O2 network, your T-Mobile sim card doesn’t work in it yet.
There are many corner shops, mobile phone shops, and internet cafes so mobile phone unlocking, so just look for the sign like’mobile phone unlock here’ or stuff like that. It cost you about £5 – £10.

First you need to unlock the phone from O2. If your contract with O2 has finished, they are supposed to give you the unlock codes. Try asking them.
If they won’t, take your phone into a T-mobile shop. They’ll probably be able to unlock it for you. If you’re really stuck, you can buy the unlock codes on eBay.

Yes! You have to get a in contact with O2 and find out the phone sim unlock code! Or if they do not have it then get in touch with Samsung and they will have it. You have to give them the phone’s name and type of phone and also the IMEI number behind the phones battery. They will then give you the sim unlock code that you enter in your phone and it unlocks, once unlocked to can use your phone with any sim card from around the world. Good luck.

Take it to your local dodgy market dealer and get it unlocked for about 3 pounds.
There’s loads that do it.
Then take you pick of operators, i use Orange not because it’s the cheapest but they have the best service and coverage. (in my opinion of course.lol)

As far as I know there isn’t a way at all. When I have spoken to many phone company I got the same answer and that was that you have to use the sim card for that company that your with only that u can’t use other companies cards and nor can it be used before cuz every card is activated to one number only.

You need to get the phone unlocked. When you bought the phone it was ‘locked’ so that it could only be used with the O2 service. By unlocking the phone you will be able to use that phone with a different service provider. This is easier said than done though. You can try calling O2 for the instructions to unlock but they may not be eager to help you. They want to keep you as a customer. You can also search the internet.
Just another point. You may have some trouble with services like text messaging or internet because your phone won’t have some of the T-mobile specific software on it.

I paid a bloke on the market to unlock mine and it worked fine. Ask any phone stalls on your local market. Worth a try.
