I am looking to get a phone similar to the iphone but don’t want to pay £30 per month for contracts. Is there any phone that has a good priced contract and is similar to the iphone?

For apps you won’t find anything better than the iPhone, but for Internet Android phones rule the roost. The best of the bunch right now are the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy S but they won’t really cost you any less than an iPhone on most networks.
The budget option would probably be the HTC Hero or HTC Wildfire, their not quite top of the range but if you want something cheap then you’re not going to be able to have a brand new high end phone.

like all smartphones have the same contract rates.. because you have to pay for data plan
