I can’t use efax (or anything like it) because my business absolutely needs to keep it’s current fax number. Is there a machine I can plug into our phone line that will accept faxes, convert them into PDFs and send it to my email address? How much? Where do I get it?

My fax machine (a Brother intellifax 4100) keeps putting horizontal lines across out going faxes. It is not the receiving machine as this happens with all outgoing faxes. The lines are thin black lines going horizontally across the page. I have cleaned the scanner window with no improvement. The fax also prints a page the says "Check Readability of Transmitted Page(s)" then gives the pages that have the lines. There is nothing wrong with the original pages.
