Seems like a simple question, however we dont have landline telephone in the house, the previous owners must have. So is that something the phone company will still take care of, or do we need to call someone else to take care of that. Yes, I know I should just call the phone company, however I cant get past their automated system, since that want me to enter my telephone.

BREAKING NEWS ON THE BBC: Apparently Colonel Gadaffi has made a telephone call to Tony Blair. The looney war-mongering despot asked for advice on what to do if charged with war-crimes. It´s not known what advice Colonel Gadaffi gave him.

Someone told me years ago that, even though telephone lines usually don’t carry any electric current, that they DO when a call is coming on. And so, if you were to touch an unsheathed telephone line, or do something of the sort, when a call was coming in, you could get electrocuted. Is this true? Do telephone lines EVER carry any electric current, or at least enough to electrocute a person?

I am using Internet Explorer 8.0. When I do a Google search for a business the telephone number will appear on the screen then disappear after 1 – 2 seconds. All of the other information is there. If I click on the refresh screen button a few times the number is on the screen long enough that I can read it. Is there some way to correct this?
