New HTC: HTC Legend

Recently I started following a tech blog, and since then I find myself updated with all tech associated news. It was here I had read about HTC Hero, one of the latest Android devices, which is known for its ease of usability, and few other features. And now next in the line of HTC device is HTC Legend.

HTC legend is not completely different from Hero, but it has few better functions. In fact, HTC Legend is an upgraded version of HTC Hero.  There is no change in the screen size and resolution of the two devices; it is in the display of the phones that the major actual comes. And HTC Legend will be the first mobile phone to have an AMOLED touch screen.

Intro To AMOLED Touchscreen:

AMOLED is an Active matrix organic light emitting diode. It is used for display technologies in mobile phones.

Apart from having AMOLED touch screen, HTC Legend will also have a very quick Qualcomm processor. The launch date of the phone has yet not been announced, but it will be brought out sometime in Feb, 2010, followed by Google phone and Xperia10.  The cost of the phone is yet to be disclosed.  Before Hero was launched, there was HTC Tattoo (it ran on the Operating System Android 1.6) where one could customize everything as per your requirement.  In short, HTC tattoo was a Smartphone.

Below are a few specs of the phone (HTC Legend)

Quad-band GSM/EDGE, dual band WCDMA/HSPA (900/2100)
3.2? HVGA AMOLED capacitive touch screen
Android 2.x
600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor
5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash
WiFi
Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
GPS/AGPS, G-sensor, digital compass

Sony Ericsson Launches Two New Phones

Recently Samsung had brought out an eco-friendly cell phone, the Samsung Blue Earth, which is made out of recycled materials and its usage doesn’t harm the environment. The phone truly is good but has few not very acceptable things – for being eco-friendly the phone had to compromise on its looks and features. And now we are soon going to see two phones from Sony Ericsson, which are also eco-friendly and assures not to spoil or damage the environment, and all without trading its designs and functionality with the environmental care it brings with it. Yes, Hazel and Elm, the two going to be introduced Sony Ericsson mobile phones are both prepared from recycled plastics and are not harmful to the surroundings. Some good news for the environmentalists.

Hazel and Helm, as these two cell phones are named, are not very different in nature, only the size of the screen and dimensions vary a little. Most of the functions are almost similar among the two phones. Take a quick look at features of Hazel and Elm:

Features of Hazel:

2.6? TFT touchscreen, 240 x 320 pixels
5MP camera with autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face and smile detection
Bluetooth V2.1 with A2DP

micro SD  support up to 16GB

Accelerometer sensor

Splash-resistant

Little aboutElm:

2.2? TFT, 240 x 320 pixels
5MP camera with autofocus, LED flash, Geo-tagging, face and smile detection

Sony is to  launch both these phones in only two colors – each in two different colors. Hazel is mostly to be in Black or Rouge. And Elm will be in Metal Black or Pearly Rose. The phones will be launched in early months of 2010. And hopefully users like the two phones, and more of it gets used. And perhaps this may mark the beginning of all and only eco-friendly cell phones in the market.

Palm Pre Or Droid Or iPhone 3GS Or Corby?

The year many good being introduced in the market. There were few eco friendly cell phones too, like the Samsung Blue Earth which is made out of recycled plastic and is said to be environment friendly. Also, the year had controvercial Satio and Aino, which after being launched had to be taken off the shelves. In short, 2009 was a year of mobile phones. So now that the year is about to end, how about buying one of those cell phones you have been reading a lot about. Okay, you are confused as to which one to buy? Well, take a good look at all the phones listed below that make the best buy of 2009.

Palm Pre -

May not be the best mobile phone, but its WebOS along with its design makes Palm Pre a cell phone to buy.

Samsung Corby -

At the outset, let me state that Samsung Corby is no very helpful cell phone when it comes to its features. It’s the phone’s design and looks that make it worth purchase. So those who love to show off their mobile phones among friends and colleagues, then Samsung Corby is just the right phone.

iPhone 3GS -

One of the best smartphones the market has. There are apps, there is Internet, and there is good looks…and yes, a good price tag too. Keeping aside the price, iPhones 3GS is perhaps the best cell phone one should buy this holiday season.

Motorola Droid:

Droid brought back Motorola’s lost lustre. The Droid has been awarded the Times gadget of the year and also the best Android device. Now that is something really prestigious for Motorola Droid.

Nokia E72:

Many Nokia models were introduced. The latest and the best one is E72 which in many ways is better or equal to a BlackBerry. Yes, you read it right. Nokia E72 could give BlackBerry a tough competition. You may want to check out more here – Why Nokia Could Outdo BlackBerry.

Cell Phones Going on Another Diet

Mobile (cell) phones have been getting smaller ever since they first hit the market. They once resembled hard-back books, and now you can find phones smaller than a pack of chewing gum. That said, there was a marked reversal in this shrinking progress as phones took on more and more functions and applications, such as being used as video cameras and personal organisers. Handsets such as the iphone and other ’smart’ phones did have improved styling, but are considerably larger than many of the previous generation handsets. However, this is soon set to change.

There is no longer a need to have every one of your phone’s files and functional programs loaded onto your handset, and this is down to advances in wireless and 3G connectivity. You can instead stream whatever information, games and functions you need from else ware, only when you need it. This then allows phones to essentially act like shells, that can be used for different things at different times, just by feeding different information into them.

A central information hub that is kept at home, or better yet with your network provider, would essentially act as the phone’s database. This hub will contain all your programs, songs, pictures etc, and will be able to feed them to your phone in an instant. You will still need a certain amount of hardware in the phone, such as a camera and other electrical components, but you will be able to save huge amounts of space where memory, processors and mini fan accessories would normally be found. This means then that phones could be not much bigger than cable ties and you could even wear them as accessories such on a necklace or as a wrist-band. As phones would not be constrained by previous standard conventions, their evolution in terms of appearance could be almost limitless.

One Accessory Made For Cellular Phones That Is Often Overlooked

When it comes to buying a cell phone, whether or not it’s for yourself or Wholesale Cell Phones that you’re planning on reselling, there is one accessory, available for GSM Cell Phones, that many people overlook.  So you know that carrying cases and belt clips make up the most common of all cellular accessories, and a few of them are from the did not Know You needed It office.  But there’s one accessory that is’s likely to once have been overlooked as it’s from the didn’t Even Know It Was An Accessory Department!  Indeed, it is not even an object that goes with a telephone, but a service that’s’s performed on one.  It is an accessory that will certainly increase the resell value of Wholesale Cell Phones you had purchased. But before you protest this is just a matter of semantics, recall first what it means to accessorize something, anything.  Accessories help you to use something better, somehow enhancing your overall experience, don’t they?  Well, unlocking your phonephone will definitely reinforce cellular experience better than any accessory!  Unlock your GSM cell phonephone and get the last word in cellular accessories, in this sense : the one true must-have of them all!

But what if your service provider should object?  But that’s not particularly likely.  For aside from some type of condition in your contract that obliges you with never altering your phonephone in any way, ever, it is your phonephone : you do own it!  Besides, the carrier makes money without reference to whether the phone is locked.  And even the presence of such a clause might not have to deter you, as you can most likely still unlock your telephone all the same.  Eventually, you probably wouldn’t unlock your phone at all unless you were changing to another carrier in which case the old carrier’s protests don’t matter!

It’s simply too bad that many a carrier programs its GSM phones to not work with SIM cards from another.  Unlock your GSM phone and you undermine this programming.  You can easily decide whether your telephone is unlocked by simply sticking another SIM card into it.  Nokia telephones can regularly become unlocked through codes that can be cost-effectively acquired, but the manual input of secret codes is just a method to unlock a GSM phonephone.  Certain phones require a firmware rewrite, or firmware reflashing, so the handset must be sent to a company with the mandatory hardware.  But not all firms can service all makes of cell telephones, so check first to determine whether your particular telephone can be reflashed.  But do keep any unlocking codes safe for future reference, as there was at least one report of a carrier essentially relocking a telephone even though that phone wasn’t even one issued by the carrier!

Buy cell phones

Technical details and features should never be overlooked or ignored when you need to buy cell phones. The issue with many clients is the confusion created by devices jam-packed with features. With full Internet access, incorporated TV, MP3 players, 3D game functions and built-in video cameras, a phone is no longer just a phone, but much more.

Check the caller ID display and the external screen and see if the phone meets your needs. More sophisticated devices even show the picture of the caller, if you have previously attached one to the contact entry. Going hand in hand with such features, there comes the dialing variant. Classic phones include normal phone book selection while more advanced ones use voice dialing.

These voice dialing features are ideal for travelers who use the headset extensively. For the same purpose of rapid communication, choose a device Internet access, instant messaging and text messaging. Such cell phones have WAP or Wireless Access protocol incorporated to match the necessary Internet features. When you decide use such service forms, you’ll learn how to optimize different other functions related to the online features.

Do you need a video recorder or a built-in camera? When people buy cell phones they usually consider such features as part of the package, but they usually end up paying more for a device they hardly use. Multimedia plans do vary a lot, and any smart shopper be well informed about the kind of product you purchase. Consider you you needs carefully and get something to stand up to the requirements.

The place where you buy cell phones is equally important. Would you turn to an authorized dealer? Are phones more advantageous as part of a contract? Is the Internet a good shopping variant? Are interested in unlocked cellulars more? These are just a few of the questions you should ask yourself before paying for a certain device. Remember that the price tag differs greatly between the locked and unlocked offers.

And finally, there comes the question of accessories and trifles that personalize the cell. Most of the time such items are available when you buy cell phones or they can be bought some other time from a different retailer.
