European Commissioner Neelie Kroes (Digital Agenda) on Monday presented plans for a common EU approach on ultra-fast broadband and mobile networks. She announced that the European Commission has adopted a Recommendation indicating to national telecoms regulators how they should regulate third-party competitive access to ultra-fast fibre networks (also known as ‘next generation access’ — NGA — networks) that bring high-speed broadband connections to homes and workplaces. Regulators should apply the new guidance in their daily decision making as soon as the text has been published in the EU’s Official Journal. Under the telecoms Framework Directive (2002/21/EC) they are obliged to take “utmost account of the Commission’s Recommendation, justifying any departure from it. The Recommendation provides regulatory clarity to telecom operators, ensuring an appropriate balance between the need to encourage investment and the need to safeguard competition. It will help to stimulate investment in competitive high-speed broadband networks, which is a key objective of the Commission’s Digital Agenda for Europe and Europe 2020 strategy. The Recommendation forms part of a package of broadband measures.

Digital Photography And Print Photography
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on March 20th, 2010
These days, with all of the digital media out there, people often neglect to preserve actual photographs, and in many cases never even have photographs printed. Before digital cameras, physical prints of pictures were one of the only tangible ways to preserve your memories. Whether you had a fancy camera or a simple snapshot camera, or even if you just used a disposable, you still ended up with pictures in hand.
You did not see the pictures as you took them, and often you forgot exactly what shots you took. After a family vacation where you took four or five rolls of film, you would take them into the drugstore and have them developed. If you chose one-hour developing service, you often waited anxiously, checking your black sport watch every five minutes to find out if it was time to pick up the pictures yet.
The fun of looking through the photos was a great way to top off the vacation itself. You might find a shot of a gorgeous sunset above a lake, or a funny candid photo of your brother showing off the men’s sport watch he bought on impulse at a rest stop. Looking through the photos, and filing them in an album, you live the memories once again.
Digital cameras show us the photo immediately after it is taken, so we lose the element of surprise. Often times, if we are not satisfied with a shot, we erase it and take a new one. This may give us greater control over the finished product, but it means that we lose the fun of discovering that photo we forgot was ever taken.
Along with the surprise has gone the necessity of organizing photos into physical albums. Now, we just upload the pictures to a hard drive or a social networking site and put them in ‘albums’ there.
The advantage of digital photos is that they take up less space, and they are easier to share with people in other places. But you cannot have the same social experience around a computer screen as you can have sitting on a couch and passing around an album or a stack of photographs.
With some effort, though, we can take advantage of the convenient things about digital photography, and preserve many of the good things about print photos. Almost every drug store with a photo developing service will also have a machine where you can order print photos. You can adjust your photos before you order prints, by cropping them or changing the colors. With a few scrapbooking tools, you can make beautiful albums, using the convenience of the digital age to enhance them!
A Few Ideas You Must Know about Digital Videos
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on March 11th, 2010
The Internet abounds in professional and amateurish digital videos. Whether you picture yourself as some private journalist or you just want exposure for your materials, the world wide web is the right place to be. And web sites like YouTube do encourage these trends because this is how they make money. Any modern mobile phone comes with an incorporated camera; no wonder we get so many digital videos.
Almost all the materials broadcast on television are digital videos because this technology is much more efficient in rendering the quality of both image and sound. Nevertheless, amateurish materials can provide good quality too, as lots of improvement is conducted during editing. Softwares have been created to help edit digitized data stored on memory disks, because you cannot use the actual digital videos unless you transfer them onto a computer.
Digital videos are not difficult to shoot in the amateurish mode as they require no technical skills or knowledge on the part of the user. Thanks to the automatic setting, the electronics of the camera can perform all the tasks. However, professional cameras are usually operated manually in order to achieve high performance in image capturing. Pros really know what they’re doing. We could also say that the combined automatic-manual model is even more popular, because very complex video digital equipments are sometimes difficult to operate.
Videography is indeed a rewarding occupation, and you can immortalize lots of great memories. All important events like weddings, child birth, ceremonies, baptisms and corporate receptions require a videography service. The event will thus be captured in the form of digital videos that people will keep as memories or make use for reference purposes later on. Many videographers also advertise online, which makes them a lot easier to contact.
You can perfect your videographic skills by turning to professional training and getting an education in this field of activity. When using a phone camera to take digital videos, we need no skill at all, and to be honest, the quality of the resulting material is not exactly great. It is about more complex equipment that you should learn, as you have to know how to create the right exposure, how to shoot under a certain angle and much more.

Digital Video Studio: A Great Place to Edit Your Digital Videos Simply
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on March 11th, 2010
Most videography projects involve activities specific to a digital video studio. Professional film makers will often have a studio of their own to work in, but any type of project can be handled on such locations from editing short movies to creating ambitious scripted pieces. With the coming of the digital age, things have been greatly simplified for people in this branch of activity. The video cameras are totally lightweight, the memory chips are built in the camera and you can transfer a whole video in the computer with just a few clicks.
The use of the camcorder is not a problem, and many people have such equipment available, but the editing of the shot materials is the real challenge. Instead of trying your minimum technical skills at such tasks you can leave the processing part to a digital video studio. Specialists will then create special effects, add titles or captions and even animations to the original material. The reasons why most such tasks cannot be handled at home is because of the equipment required for the job. Normally, in a digital video studio all the equipment is up-to-date and compatible with the latest digital technology.
There are some categories of users that will preponderately hire digital video studio services. Department users, professionals, corporate users and consumers can equally be the end customers of such businesses. They just contact such businesses to get a video authored for a special event, either personal or corporate. Then, the digital video studio will charge different fees according to the complexity of the job, the extent of the service and the type of customer.
Departments often collaborate with a digital video studio for the making of marketing materials used for promotional purposes. Corporate users are other serious customers as they usually look for advanced video quality. And finally, professionals require expert approach to their videos with real time editing and footage as well as flexibility in the processing of the materials. Professionals will pay the most to get a job well done at a digital video studio.
These being said, we can only conclude that there is a lot of work behind the creative digital videos we see or get as end products. Special software tools, hardware equipment and plenty of technical skill have each a role to play in the data transfer, editing and insertion of special effects. All for a great outcome.
