Is it possible to use my home hub phone as my landline phone?

I dont want to use my hub phone for internet calls, just landline. How do go about that? Can i plug the phone directly into the socket on the wall or can i configure the phone to only dial out using my landline? Its a Hub phone 2.1 if that makes any difference.
Sorry, yes i do have a filter attached to my socket. But my home phone is playing up and i wanted to use my hub phone instead.
