How soon after getting mobile phone insurance can you claim?

I have only just got the phone (HTC Desire) and took out the insurance a few days ago. I have now cracked the screen on my phone due to dropping it. Is it too soon to claim?
I feel like it seems dodgy claiming so soon!

What should I do about my mobile phone screen?

Recently the phone screen on my Samsung X820 started displaying incorrectly, then the phone would turn itself off. Now the screen is completely unviewable (there are horizontal white lines across it).

I didn’t take out insurance on the phone. Is this something that the manufacturer or network can rectify for me?

Is it poissible to buy replacement screens? The phone is only about 6 months old, should it still be covered by some kind or warranty?

An insurance company introduced a pay as you drive insurance policy. Who is the maker of the gps device?

I’ve searched the web but can’t find the information anywhere. The insurance company licenced the pay as you drive technology from a US company. What with a recent report out on road congestion, this means that a gps type device would need to be fitted to every car to track the distance travelled, where and when the car went. Who are the manufacturers of these devices?
Thankyou for your responses. I have found out that the in-car device used by Norwich Union is Traffic Master.

The i-phone has done really well for itself

The phone itself seems to be selling more by the hour but how is this happening? The thing is, the phone has taken years to develop which is why it sells so well, it has years of technology pushed inside it.

There is something that is good about this phone, the fact that is is a ipod and a phone mixed with some brilliant technology all in one. The App store can give you anything from football scores to games and Google Earth.

Recently 02’s exclusive two year contract with Apple has run out and Vodaphone as well as Orange have both stepped in to snap up deals with them. Next year these companies are going to be allowed to actually put the phone on sale. Would someone really hold back on getting the phone simply because 02 are the providers, not likely but now there is likely to be a price war? People have a favourite provider that is certain so perhaps a few extra sales will be on the way in the New Year.

A crucial part of choosing whether to buy this phone is can you actually afford it. The cost of the phone itself isn’t cheap and can be even worse if it breaks and you do not have something like Gadget Insurance. Insurance may cost you a bit extra every month but it really can be worth getting. Everyone drops the phone at one stage and it could be that you drop yours on concrete and it smashes. Personally I have dropped mine about five times and it has managed to survive so it is possible not to have insurance although I would reccomend it.

Of course there are insurance policies available for a number of things from Sat Nav insurance as well as the obvious iPhone insurance. However if you were to insure your gadget it could save you money in the long run.

My Phone Got Hit With A Chair

Although this is something that I did not manage to do on purpose it was a complete accident and I am now suffering from it.

I had first dropped my iPhone onto the floor in which I was immediatly called up for a meeting. Once back from the meeting I had forgotten about the phone so i sat on my chair and slid to my desk. After feeling a slight bump I just presumed it was the floor or something like that. it really wasnt the floor.

Once I had remembered the phone was missing I went looking for it to discover it being on the floor and after inspecting it I thought everything was okay until I turned it over. The reason it cannot work is because it has become cracked just where the charger goes in so I cannot charge it. Another problem is that I had no way of getting a new one because I didn’t have iPhone insurance.

Because the iPhone has been my companion over the past few months I do not feel that I could have any other phone to do the job. I am going to have to go out and spend a lot of money to get another one. Perhaps because I am on contract they will give me a bit of a discount but I can’t see much sympathy coming from them when I haven’t for any insurance of any kind, even that gadget insurance would have sorted me out.

I am now going to go out and get I-pod insurance as there is no way I am ever taking this kind of risk again. It is simply impossible to keep paying out to replace all of the things I am breaking.

So there it is

Protect Yourself Against Gadget Failure With Insurance

The advancements in technology within the last decade has been great, no doubt about it. With new recent breakthroughs in the form of the new iPhone being able to recognise voice recognition to the new announcement that Microsofts Project Natal for the Xbox 360 is set to have full body motion sensing capabilities with no wires and nothing plugged into you in any way at all.

However, what happens when a part inside breaks? In some cases, the costs to repair the gadgets can be more than you initially paid for them. The majority of the time when they go wrong, it’s down to the manufacturer for not making it well to begin with. Although the Xbox 360 has been proven to be the best console in this latest console generation, it does have one problem with it. The 3 red rings. Now to any Xbox 360 owner the three red rings would be like handing your wallet over to a criminal. Unless you are still within your warranty you are looking at paying at least 50 to have to send it off to be repaired for a problem that should not have been there in the first place.

This never used to happen with consoles such as N64 and PS1 but now we are not only seeing failures from the 360 point of view but more and more PS3s and Nintendo Wiis are being sent off for repair. It could be down to more people are playing games due to the huge amount being released within the last few months, or, it could be down to the manufacturers not fixing the problems and just selling more machines.

There is a solution to this and it comes from gadget insurance. This can be bought for up to 5 of any gadgets and it will set you back only 20 pound a month. Although this seems a lot it is cheaper than having to go out and pay for repairs to your products. This is mainly due to the fact that if for instance you were to drop your iPhone it would cost you around 100 to repair. So if you look at it from that perspective 20 a month for insuring five gadgets is a better deal than having to pay 100 for something that you could drop again and again. As well as this when it comes to fixing consoles such as the Nintendo Wii it is actually cheaper to buy a new console than top fix it which again is going to cost you a whopping 180.

Also, if you are only looking to insure one item and not 5, no matter what type of gadget it is, you can simply pay for Xbox 360 Insurance seperately. Unfortunately, a great deal of home emergency insurance policies don’t cover any damage or theft to your gadgets.

Has the mobile phone taken over out lives?

A recent poll has shown that British people are very highly addicted to thier mobile phones. Research has shown that 88% of people do not leave their homes without their mobile phone. All this is proving is that without technology the country would be nothing. This also means that 53,658,000 phones are carried around in bags and pockets in the streets of the UK every single day.  In truth Britain sends over 1 Billion texts a week putting us into the top 6 for texting in the world which is ridiculous considering Britain is such a small country.

The poll went on to say that over anything else a mobile is the one thing we will always take with us even over a wallet or purse. Funnily enough the midlands saw the best/worst result depending on how you look at things with a massive 98% of people saying they had it on thier persons all the time.
The real question to ask is why? It is quite simple really. The amount of things a mobile phone can now do is astronomical ranging from a simple text or call to checking the bank details online or even getting insurance quotes. Phones are becoming more and more advanced by the year with some having either MP3 within the phone itself or in the case of the I-Phone an actual I-pod included within the phone! As well as this you can now watch television as well as your favourite film all from the touch of a button on the phone as well as look at quotes from different car insurance firms!

Of course it does mean that muggings have risen simply because there are more phones out there to take as well as the question are we becoming far too dependent on technology? It was certainly not like this thirty years ago and it seems that as the generations go on we are becoming lazier and lazier.

If technology is your thing then why not look for gadget insurance to make sure your favourite new gadget is protected against anything and everything!
