Mobile or Social? Which Poses the Bigger Challenge for Corporate IT?

As mobile computing makes its way into corporations, what are the challenges IT faces in providing support? How will companies adapt? How will mobile change the way people work? With corporate executives already relying on mobile, it’s only a matter of time before most companies follow suit. Social media presents different challenges. Corporate executives aren’t adopting social media as quickly as they adopted mobile computing. Facebook, Twitter and other social media are frequently viewed as a waste of time for all but those designated to work on social media efforts. Here Chris Pitre of Idea talks about how mobile and social are changing the way we work. and how that ties into hiring and human resources.

How do I get an update for my SMART2GO GPS Maps?

I have a GPS powered by SMART2GO
(NOT a mobile phone)
with maps and it is working pretty well but the maps are about 8 months old and I keep finding that roads have altered since the map was installed.
I have tried going to smart2go.com but it is totally unhelpfull. It is all geared for phones.
Has anybody else had this problem and how did you solve it?

Integrating Dual-Mode Cellular Phones into the VoIP PBX

Many cellular (mobile) phones today are “dual-mode”, that is: equipped with both Wi-Fi transceivers and SIP phone clients. Couple this capability with a VoIP-enabled PBX (IP-PBX), and you get reduced communication costs with increased accessibility. View this recorded Webinar to see how your organization can benefit from this capability.

Does anyone know of an in-built GPS mobile phone that could use tom tom software well?

An upgrade is due and would like to find out a mobile phone that works well with tom tom software. No external GPS receiver required, preferrably a nokia but wouldn’t mind others, not fussed with radio etc etc.
Oh…and a good battery life.

What phone has a good combined camera?

I have reason to believe that that hussy in the kitchen has designs on my husband. This may not be a wholly bad thing … but I would like to have photographic evidence to be able to hold over one, the other or both in the future. Anyway, I’d like to replace two machines with one. What would be a good mobile phone/camera combination for general, holiday snap use and with which to catch them in flagrante delicto?

hussy, mobile phone, photographic evidence
