Keep Your Conversation to Yourself

Do you Practice Proper Mobile Phone Etiquette?
To many of us in the developed western world it would appear that everyone and their dog now has a mobile phone. But we all need to remember that around 50% of the worlds population have never received or made a telephone call.
This fact highlights the technological gap that exists between the developing countries and those lucky enough to have affordable access to modern communication technology.
But many people think that mobile phones are actually more irritating than they are useful. Have you recently used a train or a bus?
I have to take the train to and from London every day and I find myself forced to listen to mobile conversations that I would far rather not hear. Ever evening on my way home from work on the train from London I have to listen to various people calling home to tell their partners that, surprise, surprise, they are on the train. And every evening I have to listen to the same people making the same calls with the same useless message. What did they do before they had a mobile phone?
I’m also forced to listen to teenagers engaged in long drawn out conversations that don’t appear to make any sense. Their conversations seem to be focused on their boring lives, the television programmes they’ve been watching or criticising their boyfriends. In one recent conversation a young lady loudly shared the details of a recent sexual experience with a detailed account of what took place. As she proceeded to describe exactly what had taken place everyone in the train compartment was cringing with embarassment.
Being forced to listen to what should be private conversations is just one aspect of modern mobile phone use that is highly anti-social. Another is those incredibly irritating and often far too loud ringtones that are supposed to sound like a popular tune but don’t.
We all need to be reminded of how lucky we are to even own mobile phones. People who use their mobile phones to describe their sex lives should be banned from owning them.

Life Saving iPhone Apps?
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Mobile Cell Phone on February 21st, 2010
So here it is, just some of the best apps that you can currently find on the iPhone. Some of them are really very useful indeed whereas the others are just plain strange.
AroundMe
This is something that has become very useful to a lot of iPhone users as it will show you a lot of nearby things that could prove to be very useful to you. This is handy if you are stuck in a location that you are not too sure of as it can give you directions to fuel stations, hotels or even hospitals. As well as all of this it is possible that it can show you movie theatres and bars and other leisure things.
Fake Call
This is something that could be very useful for people who have to attend a lot of dull meetings in which they need an excuse to get out of. The great thing about this is that it stays on your mobile and will not use up any credit or minutes so you just need to to install it and your set. For the meetings that you simply must get out of this is really good as it will look like there is actually someone calling you on the other end.
Red Laser
This app is very handy indeed as it saves a lot of time looking around for the best deals and prices. No more will you walk into a shop and see that the thing you have just purchases is cheaper. It allows you to scan any barcode to check on cheaper prices elsewhere. I have found that with this it is best to keep it to the entertainment things such as games and music as you can really see some price drops.
Of course this is not going to help you if you drop the phone which is when you are going to need mobile phone insurance or perhaps even gadget insurance as this will cover you from other things too. It is also good to remember that you could be getting insurance on another important gadget so look into getting something like laptop insurance
Back Up Your Cell Phone Today
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Mobile Cell Phone on February 21st, 2010
If you’re in business you’ll understand the importance of personal contacts. These days we use our mobile telephones as electronic personal assistants to store all of these vital business contact details, to do lists, appointments and reminders. But do we ensure that our valuable business data is backed up in case our phones are lost or damaged?
Mobile phone providers have estimated that fewer than 15% of users actually back up their telephone data. Its worth taking a few moments to consider what would happen if you lost all of the contact details you have on your mobile phone. Consider if you have all of these vital details stored safely elsewhere?
These days I don’t take any risks and backup my telephone data every day. This is a new routine for me that only began after I’d lost my last mobile phone while hiking. The impact of this loss was enormous. I’d accumulated numerous contacts whose details were held solely on my mobile phone. The cost to my business of my losing these was immense. These days I backup my phone data every day. And I have my phone covered with mobile phone insurance to pay for a replacement the next time I lose it, which is bound to happen sooner or later.
If you are now worried about how to back up your phone data it should simply be a matter of taking a look at the applications that came with your phone. If it’s a Sony, Nokia or similar then you will have been provided with a disk full of applications that will include the facility to copy all of your telephone data to your computer. If you ever lose or replace your phone it should be a simple matter of copying the data back from your computer to your replacement handset.

What Console Should You Get?
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on February 14th, 2010
Sales
If you are looking into sales alone then the Wii outsells everything. From the opiniopn of someone that has owned all of Nintendo’s past consoles this has easily been their worst submission. Why on earth is this?
Well the simple reason is that they have stopped caring about all of the Die hard fans and started to generalise their games for the general market which means we are constantly seeing rubbish games in which a Nintendo fan wouldn’t touch with a 10ft barge pole. Mario Kart Wii was at best disappointing as they seemed to take out everything that made Double Dash good. In all my time of playing Mario they have never used the same idea twice, what on earth is Mario Galaxy 2 all about?.
The Wii (in my opinion) is certainly out of it already.
Online and other
The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. The online although it is free it is very poor and you always find yourself in a game with people unable to speak English. I do not understan why they did not add language filters? Is Blu-Ray the only decent thing going for the PS3.
The Xbox 360 has the better games, the better online service and just a generally better experience overall. Do not get a Wii as although it is said to be for the entire family, the kids and you will get bored quickly. Getting a 360 or a PS3 is wise.
To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.
Mobile Phones Due To Shrink Yet Again
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Tech on February 11th, 2010
Cell (mobile) phones have been on a serious diet since their conception well over a decade ago. They have moved from being the size of fax machine to items no bigger than a cigarette lighter in many cases. However, phones began to take on new more advanced roles such as Internet browsing and being MP3 players, and this led to something of a turnaround for handset sizes. Handsets such as the iphone and other ’smart’ phones did have improved styling, but are considerably larger than many of the previous generation handsets. However, this is soon set to change.
There is no longer a need to have every one of your phone’s files and functional programs loaded onto your handset, and this is down to advances in wireless and 3G connectivity. What would happen is that information and programs would be streamed into the phone from an external source only when you request them. This then allows phones to essentially act like shells, that can be used for different things at different times, just by feeding different information into them.
A central hub will be needed and this can be either be located in your home or with your service provider. This hub will contain all your programs, songs, pictures etc, and will be able to feed them to your phone in an instant. You will still need a certain amount of hardware in the phone, such as a camera and other electrical components, but you will be able to save huge amounts of space where memory, processors and mini ac fans would normally be found. This means then that phones could be not much bigger than cable ties and you could even wear them as accessories such on a necklace or as a wrist-band. Breaking free of the weight and size that phones have had to comply with in years gone by could spawn a whole new era for them.
Cell Phones Going on Another Diet

Mobile (cell) phones have been getting smaller ever since they first hit the market. They once resembled hard-back books, and now you can find phones smaller than a pack of chewing gum. That said, there was a marked reversal in this shrinking progress as phones took on more and more functions and applications, such as being used as video cameras and personal organisers.
You can instead stream whatever information, games and functions you need from else ware, only when you need it. This then allows phones to essentially act like shells, that can be used for different things at different times, just by feeding different information into them.
A central information hub that is kept at home, or better yet with your network provider, would essentially act as the phone’s database. This hub will contain all your programs, songs, pictures etc, and will be able to feed them to your phone in an instant. You will still need a certain amount of hardware in the phone, such as a camera and other electrical components, but you will be able to save huge amounts of space where memory, processors and mini fan accessories would normally be found. This means then that phones could be not much bigger than cable ties and you could even wear them as accessories such on a necklace or as a wrist-band. As phones would not be constrained by previous standard conventions, their evolution in terms of appearance could be almost limitless.
Reasons Why You Shouldnt Take Your Mobile Abroad
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on November 25th, 2009
about taking your mobile phone with you? The first thing I would say is don’t even bother and the second is that if you are then make sure you have cheap mobile phone insurance.
Reasons
One of the main reasons that you should not be taking your mobile phone with you is because it just gets in the way of everything and does not need to be with you. If you are taking your mobile with you then you are going to call the people you miss because they are there in front of you. They will all still be there when you get back, if you are that desperate just use a pay phone. It will certainly bee a lot cheaper than using your mobile to make the call.
Using the internet even by accident can actually get you into a lot of trouble as it will cost a lot of money to pay fpr. This is even more so for phones such as the iPhone as they will charge you a lot of money for using the internet even if it is just a mistake.
Although you could get gadget insurance for breakages abroad it will not cover you from the mistakes you can make from all of the browsing that can be done. If you are thinking about texting then expect a large sum of money to be taken each time you ty.
The main lesson to be learnt from this is just to leave the phone at home as it is just not worth all of the hassle. If you are going on holiday then make sure you look into car hire insurance because at least then if something happens you are covered.
Wii, Xbox 360 Or PS3?
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on November 22nd, 2009
Sales
If you are basing it on sales alone then it has to be the Wii that gets the prize. From the opiniopn of someone that has owned all of Nintendo’s past consoles this has easily been their worst submission. The question to ask is why?
The major reason why is simply because they do not give a damn about all of the past fans that made them money before the Wii, the majority of new games are aimed at idiots and Nintendo fans rarely see the light of day. with Mario Kart on the Wii that just seemed to take out all of the things that made Double Dash A great game, it has sold because more kids will buy it. As well as this they are copying Mario Galaxy by adding in a few variations to levels in Mario Galaxy 2.
So by that paragraph you can see that the Wii is out of in it my opinion.
Online and other
It has to be said that the PS3 is a great console with games such as Uncharted 2 it cannot be argued that it has some great graphics. Although the online play is all free, it is very poor and it features many games with people unable to speak your language. Okay, but why not add some language barriers like Microsoft? Sure the PS3 has Blu-Ray but that seems to be all that it has going for it.
The 360 has the best games, the best experience when playing and a really good online community. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. Getting a 360 or a PS3 is wise.
To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.

This app is useful for anyone who enjoys shopping round a bit to get the best prices. The great thing about this app is that there is hardly anyone who does not want to find anything for a cheaper price. This will actually allow you to scan any barcode you want to look for cheaper prices. Very useful for things like DVD’s and computer games as there are so many competitors out there.
Of course this is not going to help you if you drop the phone which is when you are going to need mobile phone insurance or perhaps even gadget insurance as this will cover you from other things too. On all of this you could be looking into getting insurance on another gadget which is of course where you could get laptop insurance

I may not be an environmentalist but when I came across this particular post; I sure was pleased to see some effort being put to protect the environment. Yes, of late human activities have laid a threat to our environment which in turn is a threat to existence of mankind. Margaret Mead, the renowned anthropologist, was right when she said – We won’t have a society if we destroy the environment.
Those who do not know, Cadmium and Lead in cell phones can cause grave troubles to our environment. Also, the increased use of mobiles is adding to global warming. Well, the environmentalists will be glad to know that Samsung is soon going to bring out an eco-friendly mobile handset that is built out of non-toxic materials. In fact, the novel Samsung cell phone is made of waste plastic after recycling these harmful plastic discarded as garbage.
‘Blue Earth’, as the Samsung phone is named, is rumored to first come out in the market in Sweden somewhere by the end of this month of October, 2009. The rest of the world will see the Blue Earth sometime after its introduction in Sweden. Samsung’s environment friendly mobile handset is made of non-toxic materials. In fact, the phone is a consequence of recycled waste plastic. Read here all the details about the look, features and several unique eco-friendly applications of the Samsung Blue Earth.
A lot is being talked and discussed about measures the world has to take to save the environment from degradation and as an attempt to keep the environment livable and free of toxin, Samsung has actually taken a step in the from of its new phone ‘Blue Earth’. In this scathing condition where the world is faced with a dreadful peril of degrading environment, making use of the plastic that we dispose in the bin into a harmless, Samsung’s eco-friendly cell phone, although with only basic features, is praiseworthy.
