If you buy a GPS receiver, do you have to pay to use it?

I have a feeling that you do, but you don’t have to pay to use satnavs….

I want to get one to turn my PDA into a satnav. I do have a car satnav, but it would be nice to have a handheld one for London.

how to start off my navman(gps) please help?

My dad just got new satnav called navman s20 and it came with usb cable and cd rom. can someone give me step by step guide of how to install the files into the device. Also do i need a memory card sd to save the files becuase i did not get one included. Thanks.

Should the voltage to a GPS Antenna pulse?

I have a inbuilt satnav in my car but the gps isnt working. I have discovered that the 5v supply to the gps antenna is pulsing. Should it be?

Has anyone used a GPS system as a passenger on a plane , how did it work?

Allways wondered if its possible to use a Satnav system as a passenger on a plane. It wouldnt work if the satnav measured barometric pressure due to the cabin being pressurised, but could you still get a signal onboard , thus giving you position , altitude and speed information?
