WoW Warlock Guide | Where You Should Spend Your Talent Points
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
Don’t go starting a warlock without proper talent build planned; you will need the right one in order to survive and crushing your adversaries. Just like other classes, you can focus on one of the three talent trees; for this warlock guide, I will focus on affliction warlock.
Affliction Warlock
Affliction warlock using DoT (Damage over Time) as their main killing method with some talent from other trees just to raise survivability. Haunt is your bread and butter spell; it comes with three devastating effects: shadow damage, raising all DoT damage, and add the damage dealt to your health; complement it with Life Tap and you will get a killer combination. These are other talents that you need to get:
- Improved Curse of Agony; increase this spell damage by 10%
- Suppression; increase hit % and reduce mana cost.
- Improved Corruption; increase your corruption damage by 10%.
- Improved Drain Soul; as you kill by using Drain Soul, you will get 15% mana.
- Amplify Curse; reduce curse’s cooldown.
- Fel Concentration; just as prerequisite for the next talent.
- Nightfall; a gateway to Shadow Trance state.
- Empowered Corruption; increase your corruption spell.
- Shadow Embrace; good for DPS and debuff.
- Siphon Life; kinda like Vampiric effects back in Warcraft 3.
- Improved Felhunter; regain mana ability for your pet, good when pairing with Dark Pact.
- Shadow Mastery; increase your Shadow spell damage or life drain by 15%.
- Eradication; chance to increase spell casting speed.
- Contagion; increase the DoT and make it more resistant to debuff.
- Dark Pact; our other mana source, take it by draining from your pet.
- Malediction; increase your spell damage by 3% and increase periodic critical strike chance.
- Death Embrace; having your health below 20% during raid is a must-to-avoid-at-all-cost situation so you might not need the drain life bonus, but the damage bonus will make the fight easier.
- Unstable Affliction; another good DoT spell with nasty surprise for any player that dare to dispell it.
- Pandemic; adding critical rate to your DoT.
- Everlasting Affliction; restart your Corruption spells duration; this will make your opponent even more frustrated.
Mix some Demonology talents:
- Improved Healthstone; improve the effect of your healthstone, just for filler.
- Demonic Embrace; increase your survivability against AoE attack.
- Fel Vitality; raise the stats of your pet, thus very useful for Dark Pact.
This affliction build is not the only one since you can alter many points here and there to fufill certain aim; for example: other WoW warlock guide may recommend to add some points into Shadow Bolt and complement it with Nightfall. For the PvP version of affliction warlock build, check pvp guide for warlock.
One thing for sure, if you want to build a powerful warlock, you will need all of these: good talent build, good leveling speed to reach maximum level, and nice amount of gold to fund your gears; get the answer for all of those at ultimate wow guide review.
Note: if you are into spellcaster, you should try to build a priest. While it is not a killer machine like a warlock, no raiding party would leave without one, thus it is one way to make yourself popular. Check the talent build of a holy priest at priest leveling guide.
A Guide For WoW Mage | How Do You Like To Finish Your Enemies?
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
Like mages in most other games the mage in WoW has low HP and defense which means if you are an inexperienced player you will fall quickly in battle; not being able to have a tanking pet makes this a bigger problem.
It is important to remember that if you want to play a mage you have to burst all the damage possible while keeping yourself safe from attack. A mage in a party will be very helpful since they have crowd control abilities and high DPS spells. How you play the game will depend largely on what talents tree you focus on.
Arcane Mage
As an Arcane Mage you have high DPS (damage per second) that surpass even the heavy fire mage which has high fire damage. It doesn’t come without price though, you need proper gear and large amount of mana to support this build. Here are the basic playing styles of an Arcane mage:
1. Arcane Blast will be your primary spell from level 64 and up. Using this ability will increase the damage done by arcane spells by 15% per cast, but it costs more mana as well. You can stack this spell up to three times, giving you a very high damage boost. At the third cast, it increase your base damage by 45% and cost around 56% of your base mana, which will make your mana pool suffer if you do it without proper gear.
2. Once you powered yourself with 3 times Arcane Blast, Arcane Barrage will be your choice of spell. Cycling between Arcane Blast and Arcane Barrage will give you high DPS while not having to deal with the debuff.
Overcoming the trouble with mana isn’t impossible; you do have a few things you can use: runic mana potions, mana gems, evocation, and mage armor.
Fire Mage
The fire mage will be expected to deal the most DPS while the rest of the group protects you; while you aren’t using as much of your mana for damage boost like an Arcane mage, maintain enough mana to keep high burst DPS is still necessary. You won’t have the same survivability as a Frost mage so you will need to have more control skills. Here are the playing style basics of a Fire mage:
1. Fireball is your main spell for damage, but you don’t want to spam it because it will deplete your mana pool; use it by mixing other spells to complement this one. With Improved Fireball talent you will lower your cast time, which means more DPS.
2. Flamestrike is your best choice for AoE (Area of Effect) spell; it can be cast from distance which is good to keep you from harm and can be talented to have higher critical rate.
3. As a Fire mage you want to deal the highest level of damage possible so you need to add talents that will increase your damage: Incinerate, Ignite, Fire Power, and Improved Scorch.
4. Having Flame Throwing will increase your survivability since it gives you an extra 6 yards of casting distance. Definitely a must have talent.
The purpose of this build was to increase damage, so the next thing you will want to concentrate on is spell damage gear and enchant boost so you can increase your damage output.
You may notice that those two builds rely heavily on gears, enchats, and items to make it powerful enough. Check the best farming spots where you can stack gold in Northrend to fund your gears and items.
Frost Mage
As a Frost mage, you will have more survivability since you have the spells to kite such as Frostbolt and have less problem with mana since frost spells are quite mana friendly. The downside is that frost spells have less damage than Fire spells, and they don’t have the insane damage boosts Arcane spells have and that’s why you need to be careful how you use your points. These are the basic playing style as a Frost mage:
1. Your main damage spell is Frostbolt, but the spell is not very effective on its own. Complement it with Frostbite, Ice Shard, Shatter, Piercing Ice, and Frost Channeling will get you a nice damage package. You can lessen your cast time and improving DPS by adding Improved Frost Bolt.
2. Take Blizzard along with Improved Blizzard as this AoE spell will have the effect of lowering target movement.
3. Artic Reach will increase your spell range, keep you in safer distance from your foes.
4. Get Frost Nova, it is the gateway to Shatter effect.
5. Ice Block is an essential defense skill; you cannot act for the skill duration but in exchange you will immune to everything, clear almost all debuffs, drop all aggro, and give time for your group’s priest to heal you.
You won’t burst much damage, but by casting Blizzard with Improved Blizzard, Frostbite, and Shatter, you will be able to help your group because you kite a whole mob which will make it easier for the others to kill them.
These builds are only basic WoW mage guide that focusing only on one talent tree; there are various creative build that aim for different playing styles such as Arcane-Frost, Fire-Frost, etc with so much variation on each build. If you planning to start a mage, I recommend that you check Ultimate WoW Guide Review for a fast leveling guide with in game talent guide included.
Note: if you are into spellcasters, you might have interest in playing a Warlock, which has very unique methods to kill his adversaries; learn more about it at world of warcraft warlock guide.

All You Need To Know To Be a Great WoW Hunter
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
In WOW, as well as many other games, the term hunter refers to a class that uses long range weapons. Hunters are usually better at using arrows or bullets than they are at up close fighting. WoW provides the hunter class with various means to stay away from their foes such as traps and pet system.
Selecting Race
If you choose to be a hunter the first few steps will have a huge affect on your life. First, you want to pick the best race for your hunter; the selections are: Night Elves, Dwarf, Draenei, Tauren, Troll, Orc, and Blood Elves. These are their skills that will be useful as a hunter:
1. Night Elves: Shadowmeld to give them the ability to hide and quickness for extra dodge.
2. Dwarf: Gun Specialization to increase your critical hit rate and Stoneform to counter various types of debuffs such as poison, disease, and bleeding.
3. Draenei: Can heal yourself or your pet; it also has Heroic Presence which improves hit by 1% for all member of the party.
4. Tauren: War Stomp can be used to escape from melee range and back to your advantageous range. Endurance will increase base health by 5% and it stack with Endurance Training.
5. Troll: Bow Specialization can add to their critical hit rate when using a bow, add this to berserking and they get a higher DPS. HP regeneration and beast slaying ability are also nice to have as a Troll. See how being a Troll allow you to make even more powerful hunter at WoW Troll Guide.
6. Orc: Command will increase your pet damage by 5% and Blood Fury can boost your attack power.
7. Blood Elves: Arcane Torrent is good to have, it will silencing enemy and refill your mana.
Each race has their own unique abilities that will support their life as a hunter; my suggestion: you should narrow your choices to Night Elves and Dwarf in the Alliance faction and pick Orc, Troll or Tauren for Horde faction. Your next step is selecting talents, which will explain my recommendations.
Talents Build
Like other classes, there are three talents tree which you can focus as a hunter: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship, and Survival. Everyone has their own ideas and other guides might make different suggestions so it is up to you to pick the best ones for your playing style.
Beast Mastery
Orc is the most recommended for this path since they have Command traits which add 5% to their pet’s damage. Orc’s are resistant to stun and by using Blood Fury they can boost their damage. Pick a DPS type pet to help you dealt greater damage such as cats and owls in PvP and a tanking pet such as boar for leveling.
Marksmanship
Dwarf and Troll are the most recommended for this path since both of them have weapon specialization which mean more damage. If you playing this hunter type; take a tank pet such a bear or boar and stay within safe distance from your enemies. If you choose Night Elves, shadowmeld is useful, but only in PvP.
Survival
This type of hunter usually plays as a support in a group; they pull enemies to their group using their long range, and then buff their groups with aspects or aura; usually this hunter type doesn’t have that much DPS since they invest most of their points in Survival tree. Tauren is good choice for this role since it also has war stomp and increased health.
Well, you might find the leveling process rather discouraging when you already have a killer talent build but your progress per day is not that great. Find out some of my methods to speed it up at wow quick leveling.
WoW is a detailed game with virtually unlimited possibilities from which to choose; while this basic Hunters Guide and is a good place to start with your first hunter, you can combine various talents and races and be as creative as you like. I recommend that you check Ultimate WoW Review for a guide that can boost everything in your hunter life: fast leveling, huge amount of gold to fund your gears and mounts, and pvp domination.
Leveling WoW Priest | Holy Priest Talent Build
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
There are two main path for a priest build: Holy and Shadow Priest. Both path have very different talent build and role in the game. This guide will talking mainly about Holy priest talent build.
Basically, there are two big ‘major’ for those who play priest: the “Holy Priest”, which is your typical healing-support priest and “Shadow Priest” which is focus on killing skills. Note that while I can provide you with the talent build, the best ways to cover the other aspects of the game such as fast leveling and gold making is still by using a guide. Why? See the answer at World of Warcraft Strategy Guide.
Priest Talent Builds
First, you will want to invest on Healing Focus and Improved Renew. Put two points in Healing Focus and 3 in Improved Renew; it is important that you can heal more without interruption.
The next things to do is maxed Spell Warding and Divine Fury to prolong your life. Add one point to Desperate Player, it will heal you instantly, also another skill to prolong your life.
Maxing Holy Reach will give you 20% extra range for six different spells, keep you in safe distance while maintaining the survivability of your group members. Improved Healing is need to be maxed as well since it will reduce the mana cost for five different spells.
Healing Prayers is another friend of your mana pool, max this talent to gain 20% reduction of two different spells. As for Spirit of Redemption, you don’t want to use this often since it will make you die, but one point in this talent can save your group from a chaotic situation, so take this one as a reserve.
No one in your group will expect you to contribute significant damage, but 5 points in Spiritual Guidance can comes in handy when the situation demands.
Different Priest Leveling Guide suggest different approach for Surge of Light; if you are planning to use Smite and Flash Heal a lot at higher level, take this talent, otherwise just leave it. As for Spiritual Healing, you definitely want this as a Holy Priest since it will increase your healing spells by 10%.
A Lightwell will benefit the entire group during a raid; it heal anyone in your group that click it. It is not instant healing, but it is a good way to keep your mana for more demanding situation.
Spend five points: two in Empowered Healing as it will make your greater healing better and three for Serendipity as this one will cut your next spell mana cost; by doing so you have opened the next talents.
These next three talents are very important for a Holy Priest; I suggest that you maxed all of them. Empowered Renew will make your Renew heal the target instantly; Circle of Healing allowing you to heal up to five friendly party or raid members within range; Test of Faith increase healing rate on a party members whose health below 50%, increase the probability to save him/her.
There are many different opinions regarding the last two talents: Divine Providence and Guardian Spirit; other priest guides may suggest you to leave it and dump your remaining points in the Discipline tree, but recommend that you take both of them. Three points in Divine Providence will give you 6% power up for some healing spells and open your path to the next talents. As for the last talent, Guardian Spirit; it will increase your tank’s survivability and make it easier for you to keep him/her alive during chaotic situation.
Being a Holy Priest, you need to have better survival rate yourself, so put the last 20 points in the Discipline tree. Keeping yourself alive comes first before maintain the others health and a group will be in a very disadvantage when their healer dies, so these are how to spend the rest of your points:
- Unbreakable Will; reduce the duration of various side effects, enable you to back into battle faster.
- Silent Resolve; reduce the chance to dispell your helpful spells and damage over time spells.
- Improved Power Word: Fortitude; increase Fortitude and Prayer Fortitude by 30%.
- Martyrdom; gain Focused Casting effect for six seconds after getting hit by critical range or melee attack.
- Meditation; allow your 50% of your mana regeneration continue even as you casting spells.
- Inner Focus; reduce mana cost for the next spell by 100% and increase its critical rate by 25%.
- Improved Power Word: Shield; increase Shield word by 15%.
This priest guide is mainly about holy priest talent build; for leveling method, you can find a group to visit instances dungeon or doing quests all the way to level 80. Quests is far better because you will get your gears as rewards, so don’t have to spend gold for it; it also a lot faster way to reach maximum level (IF you are do it in the correct order). Check the easy ways to do this at world of warcraft leveling guide.
Note: if healing and support is your favorite role, you may interested to play a Holy Paladin in PvP arena. This class has tremendous impact on the tide of the battle in the right hand. Check the build at Paladin PvP Guide.
Four Best Farming Spots at Northrend
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
If you want to mass your gold in WoW, you have multiple options that you can do such as gather materials, craft items, enchant gears, playing with the Auction House supply and demand, etc. But maybe due to our nature, many of us still prefer the classic method of gold making that have exist since the first RPG developed: farming.
Bashing monsters while earning gold is a great way to testing your skill and gear while having fun at the same time. I have listed some spots that you can visit in Northrend to farm adequate amount of gold. If you are looking for information on early level farming, I recommend that you check gold farming guide.
If you have reached Northrend, here’s the list:
1. The Storm Peaks
Mobs:
– Scion of Storm (level 78); has one in three chances to give you Relic of Ulduar and 26% probabilty in dropping Crystallized Air.
– Seething Revenant (level 79); has 34% probability in dropping Relic of Ulduar and 26% probability for Crystallized Fire.
– Icebound Revenant (level 78); have 22% chances to drop Crystallized Water.
– Nascent Val’kyr (level 78); have 100% chances to drop Dissolved Soul Essence, 0.5% chances to drop Fractured Scarlet Ruby.
– Valkyrion Aspirant (level 74); it has 29% probability in dropping Frostweave Cloth and 41% probability for dropping Relic of Ulduar.
2. Wintergrasp (PvP territory)
Mobs:
– Tempest Revenant (level 80); will always give you Crystallized Air.
Water Revenant (level 80); nearly always gives you Crystallized Water.
– Shadow Revenant (level 80); almost sure to give you Crystallized Shadow.
– Flame Revenant (level 80); drop Crystallized Fire in most of the time.
– Earthbound Revenant (level 80); definitely will gives you Crystallized Earth.
Note that these mobs can only be seen with the ‘Essence of Wintergrasp’ buff.
3. Icecrown
Mobs:
– Converted Hero (level 79); have 40% chances to drop Frostweave Cloth. They come in pack with about six mobs per pack, so if you can round them up and kill them quickly you will get nice gold per hour rate.
4. Dragonblight
Start from south of Venomspite and keep moving south while taking down every mobs that you encounter. Most of them are humanoid type, so you’ll gain gold from them as well as various items. If your level is high enough, you can finish them quickly without much difficulties (most of the NPC are between level 70 and 73).
When you reach The Forgotten Shore, sweep the coast line for more mobs, then get to the ship and kill even more mobs. By the time you have done, the previous mobs should have respawn already, so go back to where you came from and repeat the whole process.
Important thing to do: before starting anything, go to AH and check the current item price, thus you can go for the highest payout. Of course, checking prices is only a basic thing to do, check gold secrets review for more advanced AH method to maximize your earning from farming.
With so many options in gold making, obviously one will be better than the other. For example, an expert Auction House player can generate gold in just relatively short time compared to the other player that mining ore for hours. Nevertheless, farming is still one of the best method if you know WHERE and WHAT to farm. Find the answer for this in the list of best gold guides at how to make wow gold.
PvP Guide for Paladin | How To Build A Holy Paladin
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in Games on January 9th, 2010
If fighting as a team with your must trusted friends is your favorite activities, you can use this pvp guide for paladin to increase your team strength further. Adding a paladin in your team can give you various benefits that your opponents don’t have such as healing and blessing. If you ever fight or watch a skillful Holy paladin in action, you will notice how he/she can be very annoying and hard to kill.
Being a Holy Paladin doesn’t mean that you have to go deep in Holy tree; some paladins in the Arena PvP have tried to combine Holy and Retribution and it is works well for them. However, in this Holy Paladin talent build I will focus on Holy/Protection build (all maxed except the one that I put note):
Holy
1. Spiritual Focus: you are going to cast Holy Light often, so this is very useful.
2. Healing Light: increasing your healing power.
3. Divine Intellect; put only one point here
4. Unyielding Faith: useful against Priest and Warlocks.
5. Aura Mastery: you and most of your friends will definitely rely on spells, so this is a good solution against silence spell.
6. Illumination: another mana source.
7. Improved Concentration Aura: Reduce duration of Interrupt.
8. Pure of Heart: another anti Warlock skill.
9. Divine Favor: when you need greater healing or damage.
10. Sanctified Light: chance to increase your healing and attack.
11. Holy Power: increase the critical effect chance for your Holy spells.
12. Light’s Grace: Useful in emergency situations.
13. Holy Shock: instant damage for your enemy or healing for your allies.
14. Holy Guidance: increase your spell power.
15. Divine Illumination: useful if you are going to cast spell that cost large amount of mana such as Beacon of Light.
16. Judgement of the Pure:increase the power of your Judgement spells, which will makes your opponent’s life even harder.
17. Infusion of Light: can be useful in some conditions.
18. Enlightened Judgements: another power up for your Judgement spells.
19. Beacon of Light: Saves mana when you have to heal more than one character. Based on the situation, you may have to cast it on yourself.
Important thing to consider: Beacon of Light will drain 35% of your base mana; this is a lot to pay for a single spell. If you have the chance, put Divine Illumination before casting Beacon of Light.
Protection
1. Divinity: increase your healing.
2. Stoicism: good protection against stun.
3. Guardian’s Favor: power up your hand spells.
4. Divine Sacrifice: use it with your bubble spells.
5. Improved Righteous Fury: makes you harder.
6. Toughness (1 point).
7. Divine Guardian: make you even harder.
8. Improved Hammer of Justice: annoy your enemies and save your allies. Other Paladin PvP guide may suggest taking Improved Devotion Aura instead, but I believe more Hammer of Justice can save your team from many potential dangers.
Holy Paladin talent build offer many ways to keep you and your allies save; don’t only stick to your healing spells to keep the team survivability, use other spells such as Sacred Shield, Hand of Sacrifice, and Divine Sacrifice. It is very important to be versatile so you can adapt to various situation;eg: read this rogue talent build to see a solid example of a versatile build.
Keep remind yourself that put Hand of Sacrifice and Divinde Sacrifice doesn’t mean that you will be in dangerous situation. If things start to get out hands, cast Beacon of Light to protect yourself and focus on keeping your friends alive.
Different Paladin PvP Guide focus on different playing style, but I think Holy Paladin is hold more important role in PvP Arena than the one that focused on damage dealing. If you play your skills and spells right, you can keep the team survivability while helping them crushing the opposing team.
Learn about a guide that will teach you how to level, funding, and make your paladin stay at the top of the killing blows at Ultimate WoW Guide Review.
Note: if you enjoy PvP, you may want to build another popular PvP class: Warlock. Learn how to build a PvP Warlock at Warlock PvP Guide.
Essential Warlock Guide to Playing WoW
Posted by 0845 Telephone Numbers in General on September 24th, 2009
The following WoW warlock guide should get you headed down the right path when starting out as a warlock. The warlock class focuses primarily on curses, shadow bolts, and commanding demons. The spells commanded by the warlock class are primarily focused on causing agonizing pain and suffering. They are able to hurl powerful spells from a distance, but are not good at fighting up close because they lack any substantial physical protection. Several of a warlock’s spells make use of soul shards which have to be collected from fallen enemies. The warlock class is a breeze to level up quickly due to the fact that they are extremely self sufficient when soloing. In groups, warlocks are frequently the top DPS dealers.
The only races that can be warlocks are Undead, Orcs, Humans, Gnomes, and Blood Elves. Warlocks restricted to wearing cloth armor, like many of the other caster classes. As far as weapons go, they’re limited to using only wands, staves, swords and daggers.
There are several demonic minions a warlock can summon including the Imp, Voidwalker, Succubus, Felhunter, Infernal, Doomguard, and Felguard. Every minion has their place with different pluses and minuses. Whether it be damage over time (DoT), direct damage (DD), or demon summoning, the warlock is able to cast a broad range of spells. They can utilize soul shards to conjure a variety of items and also to perform resurrection on other players. They are able to heal themselves via life tap and drain life, and also have several crowd control spells (CC’s) like fear and howl of terror. One of the commonly overlooked perks that warlocks have is that they do not have to pay nearly as much gold as other classes do to acquire their mounts (Dreadsteed and Felsteed).
The Affliction talent tree focuses on curses, drains and damage over time spells. For raiding or farming, this is an excellent talent spec to take. Affliction is the best spec for speed leveling.
The Demonology specialization concentrates primarily on summoning spells and additional benefits for your demonic minions that make them stronger and more deadly. Demonology is a great specialization for PvP, leveling, and overall survivability. When you want to create the most effective minions, Demonology is the spec to pick.
The Destruction spec uses talents that increase the power of a warlock’s fire and shadow spells, which are primarily direct damage spells that can be used to quickly eliminate one enemy. This spec isn’t as effective as the other specs during the early levels. Note that Destruction isn’t so great for solo play. Also, keep in mind that it suffers from low mana efficiency and has a heavy reliance on farming soul shards. However, its very satisfying to watch health bars drop to nothing at lightning speed.
